There are 29 artworks in SUSSED and each is linked
thematically. The overall theme is sustainable development but this
is quite an abstract concept.
To help you understand it, we have come up with 21 component subjects such
as democracy, energy, waste, nourishment, play and genetics.
Each piece will has 4 associated keywords listed beneath it.
If you press one of the subject buttons, biodiversity for instance,
you will be guided to all the artworks which deal, in part, with biodiversity.
Where an artwork has more than one 'hyperlink' you'll be taken to a randomly
artwork within the options.
As you navigate, you will also see other subject headings. Click on a new
subject heading such as fear, and this will take you to artworks that deal
with fear. And so on.
You can also navigate by artist name. This will take you to
artist biogrpahies, information about the issues in the artwork and specially
commissioned stories about each artwork.
If you want to hear the stories being read and to get the full effect of the
interactive, you'll have to visit Gallery Oldham as the the relative size
of the sound would take too long to download. But you can read the stories
online instead.
